SUCCESS STORIES
Helen Carey – Weight Loss, Injury Rehabilitation
Before starting with Mark Varitimos I had been through several life changing traumatic events, including a knee injury and the other knee was affected by arthritis. Since joining in August 2018 I have lost over 20kgs! With Mark’s encouragement I have been able to fine- tune my eating, reducing inflammation and been encouraged to try new things. Mark has mentored me in many ways, designing a flexible exercise program and helping me to reduce stresses on my body and thinking. His non-judgemental approach, his expertise in a broad range of holistic health issues and his sense of humour is amazing! I feel so much more energetic, love the weight I’ve lost and my pain has lessened. I now look forward to everyday and what I want to achieve. All this at 67 years of age! I look forward to continuing with the program, thanks to Mark Varitimos.

Peter Eleison – Weight Loss, Injury Rehabilitation
I struggled with maintaining a heathy weight for years. I attempted many times to lose weight and exercise by myself. I needed help due to it starting to affect my overall general health. I was suffering from lower back pain and a lack of energy. With Mark’s assistance, support, encouragement and knowledge, within a short space of time the lower back pain diminished and has now disappeared. I have also lost over 20kg’s, have more energy, sleeping better and my overall health and wellbeing has improved. I would recommend Mark to assist you in not just weight loss but your overall health.
Larelle McMillan – Weight Loss, Autoimmune Disease
I started with Mark Varitimos in January 2019 because I’d reached a point where I was feeling unhappy with my energy levels and my weight gain. I was pushing 90kg and as a single mum who works full time – I was frustrated with always feeling exhausted. I’d tried yo-yo diets and sporadic gym memberships. I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in my early 20s, so I’ve been on a long journey of trying to heal the symptoms that come with severe joint deterioration and pain. Fast forward just over a year and I’m feeling fantastic.
Kristine Fernandez – Gut Health, Mindset
I came to Mark with gut issues that had plagued me for many years. I’d seen a lot of different practitioners and done a variety of tests which came back inconclusive. Mark’s approach was very thorough and the holistic principles we applied really resonated with me. Not only did we focus on nutrition and lifestyle, we addressed the mental/emotional aspects that were seemingly contributing to my symptoms. After a couple of months, my gut health significantly improved and I also noticed improvements in my work and relationships as a result of the mindset work we did! Would highly recommend working with Mark.
Tracey Harbourne – Gut Health
Before starting with Mark, I struggled with my health for a number of years, suffering from bloating, restless sleep, lack of motivation, numerous food tolerances and two ‘broken’ knees.

Mark has been my ‘personal assistant’ and I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor. Not only have we discussed what my personal exercise goals are, we have talked about introducing new foods to my diet and eliminating those foods which I have an intolerance to (mammoth project for both of us!!). My ‘gut health’ has definitely improved and this would not have been possible without the guidance and support shown by Mark each week and I’m forever grateful for his persistence and encouragement.

Brenda Gibbons – Gut Health
I have had problems with reflux for several years and although I have largely managed to get it under control without taking medication, I was still getting it for two or three hours every day after breakfast.
Over the past couple of months, I have had some one-on-one sessions with Mark to work through why these things might be happening and to discuss various solutions and why these might help. It was very much a partnership approach to the problem, with Mark asking me first to complete a dietary questionnaire and then asking further questions to really define the issues.
This has been a very rewarding process that has resulted in really measurable changes. I no longer wake up coughing during the night and my morning reflux has almost completely disappeared. I am sleeping better and I am no longer craving something sweet in the late afternoon!

Rob Hetherington
I was desiring a shift, a change, a way forward, and I really wanted to set some goals to achieve in my life.

My sleep was interrupted, I was easily irritated at inconveniences and played the blame game so I didn’t have to change my behaviour.

I was aware of my thoughts, but too busy to do anything about it, and the overwhelming feeling of “Where do I start” held me back from getting some help.

I began working with Mark Varitimos, and from memory, the first thing we addressed was, what am I putting in my mouth.
I didn’t really consider that food was a contributor to how I felt, and I certainly didn’t realise that certain foods made me sleepy or moody.

Katey Comino – Nutrition, Mindset
Before seeing Mark, my eating was erratic and I was emotionally eating. I was also eating a lot of sugar and was ‘sugar addict’ for most of my life. I had tried lots of diets over the years and always went back to my bad eating habits. I didn’t necessarily need to lose weight but my eating was running my life and I was skipping meals for chocolate.

People ask me what made me change my eating habits so suddenly and how I came to stop eating sugar. Mark never asked me to do anything I couldn’t do or anything that required any effort. The changes he asked me to make were so tiny and convenient that I felt empowered that I could easily do them.
Judith Quinn – Nutrition, Mindset
My journey has been a lifetime battle. I have been obese since childhood and progressed to morbid obesity as an adult slowly at first but gaining more weight every year. I was a classic yoyo dieter. I would go on diets. Lose weight, be very proud of what I had achieved and then reward myself with my all-time favourite foods (chocolate, ice-cream, soft drink). My addictions never judged me; they always encouraged me to eat more to make me believe I was happy, satisfied and most importantly feel great. I inquired about working with Mark in early 2020 when I attended a seminar which I thought was excellent. We had an initial consultation to discuss an approach around weight management and binge eating and little did I know that this moment would change my life in a totally positive and profound way. We worked on nutrition strategies and addressed the deeper mental/emotional reasons for why I found so much comfort in food. After working with Mark for a few months, I can proudly say that my binge eating has almost completely disappeared and my energy and moods have improved immensely. We even worked on a rehabilitation program for my troublesome knees which have now vastly improved. Thank you Mark, you have changed my life.

Theo Pitsaras – Mindset, Health & Exercise
Before having Mark as my coach, I considered myself to have a good level of fitness however I was having issues with diet, sleep and stress. I had recently become a new father, and now having two children under the age of 3, I was struggling with sleep. I’m also a long-haul pilot who is regularly working on the back of my body clock, having to manage jet lag after crossing multiple times zones is challenging.
The insomnia I experienced was causing me to feel constantly fatigued and sluggish. It was increasing the levels of stress not only at work, but also within the household family environment. I felt that I was entering into the fight or flight mode more often than not and was becoming easily irritated.
Adam Cotterill – Psoriasis, Energy
Working with Mark over the past 6 months has had a huge impact in improving my sleep, energy levels and even reducing my psoriasis. Broadly, we have focussed on reducing stress through daily meditation and exercise, increasing my water intake and improving my diet. My psoriasis now is almost unnoticeable and I’m grateful to Mark for giving me the tools to manage this in the future.
